Bwahahaha I had like 6 weeks of break, where did it all go...
No, really. From like December 10th (end of classes) to January 23rd (1st day of spring semester). I think I slept through most of it, because I do remember plenty of nights when I stayed up until like 3-4 AM and then slept for 14 hours afterwards. Problem is I signed up for all morning classes this time and if I don't get my sleep schedule back together, I'm going to be in a whole lot of trouble lol.
I did draw a few things, although most of them stayed as sketches and I only threw a few on Twitter. Bad news is I might need to redraw those two OC references I already have because my dumb inconsistent art style still changes every few months. Kiyo's reference is currently a full head taller than Koel's, but in reality they're only a few centimeters apart.
In other news, I had tons of fun trying to set up my new PC. One of my courses this semester requires a pretty powerful computer because I need to install a virtual Linux environment and my old one, being 6 years old, doesn't cut it. If someone wants to ask me why I didn't go for a Mac, it's because I can't run MapleStory on one. Behold, my A+ logic.
It's a Sony VAIO Fit 14A. My old one is a Sony VAIO CR Series. I love Sony VAIOs, man. Even my Windows 98 desktop way back when was a Sony VAIO...
Uhh, anyway. Somehow the touchscreen stopped working once I updated to Windows 8.1 (it comes with 8 lol), so I reset it only to realize that it was just a firmware update I forgot to install and then I spent a whole day updating everything AGAIN. Then I found out that Paint Tool SAI doesn't recognize my pen's pressure sensitivity. Neither does GIMP. 6 hours of Googling later, and it turns out that the pen and touchscreen use a nonstandard API for pressure sensitivity. There's a fix for Photoshop, but it doesn't work for anything else apparently. So much for trying to draw with this thing like a Cintiq lol. Unless people would like to see crap made with ArtRage??
I totally don't regret choosing this computer, though. Because it's a hybrid laptop/tablet with HD resolution, I can flip the screen over and it basically becomes a mini TV. SUDDENLY BISHIES IN HD SKDJHFKSJFASFH. I WAS EMOTIONALLY ALL OVER THE PLACE.
It was probably a bad idea to test it out with Amnesia's opening though, hahahahah...But yeah, all in all, it's a definite improvement over my old computer. Stronger CPU, MUCH longer battery life, more memory, more hard drive space, DOESN'T TAKE 15 MINUTES JUST TO BOOT, etc. I'll still keep my old one for all my old junk though, because the new one needs to stay in peak performance for school (and a bunch of games that are really laggy on my old computer).
I need to stay in peak performance too, because my fall semester grades...uhhh lol. I still passed, but there's always the "NOT GOOD ENOUGH" parental speech.
Omake: My brothers' reactions to my new computer were as follows.
16-year-old: YOU GOT A STYLUS??
14-year-old: YOU GOT A CONVERTIBLE??
Priorities.
